The house which is pictured on the cover of The Marshall Mathers LP 2 and also on his 2000 album, The Marshall Mathers LP was badly burned in a fire on Thursday.
According to TMZ, the 767-square-foot, two-story bungalow, which is located on Dresden St. near 8 Mile in Detroit, sustained damage to the second floor.
Firefighters were able to put out the blaze before it spread to the rest of the house. The fire began around 6:20 p.m. on Thursday. It’s unclear how it was started. Public records show the home was bought by Em’s mother, Deborah Mathers, in 1987 for $19,900.
It was eventually abandoned and is currently for sale by the bank after failing to sell for $500 at a recent auction.
